LIFE. IS. NOT. ALWAYS. GLAMOROUS. (& it’s not supposed to be!!) it’s really easy to think that everyone’s life is perfect because we, us, as human beings, don’t like to share the broken parts. We like the idea of being vulnerable until that means allowing room for the not so perfect parts of who we are. For a while I thought I was doing something wrong or wasn’t good enough because it SEEMED like everyone else’s life was perfect, and mine was falling apart. FUN FACT: we are all so BEAUTIFULLY broken and all of these little imperfections, flaws, unglamorous parts of who we are - that’s what Christ calls out of us. That’s what he likes to use. A sweet friend reminded me yesterday that following the Lord doesn’t always look like peaches & roses. There’s highs & lows. Sometimes doubt creeps in and it is cold, dark, lonely, confusing. But one thing remains - He is steadfast through it all. I’m learning a lot about that this season. I’m learning joy over happiness, wholeness over perfection, peace over anxiety, and pursuit over hustle. I’ll be the first to tell you this season has been hard. I’ve struggled a lot, accomplished a lot, learned a lot, and fell a lot too. I’m learning to embrace that I am BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN and that’s exactly where the Lord is meeting me - teaching me - and getting me ready for something even greater. Life isn’t always happy-go-lucky, but the best is ALWAYS yet to come (& PTL for that).
