Every morning I read a few psalms just because they are so rich and honestly it’s a highlight reel reminding us how incredible the Lord is and how wondrous are His deeds. Psalm 65-67 reminded me, once again, just HOW WONDERFUL the Lord is. The very same God who performed such miraculous signs & wonders listens to our prayers and lavishes us with faithful love. Psalm 66:20 says “he has not turned away my prayer or turned his faithful love from me” AMEN. Of All his creation and glory he calls US treasured, sacred, beautiful, and most importantly - HIS. Psalm 66:18 says “I cried out with my mouth and praise was on my tongue - if I had been aware of the malice in my heart the Lord would not have listened, HOWEVER, God ALWAYS listens; he has paid attention to ALL of my prayers.” Even when our hearts are lost, He hears our cries and runs to our rescues because he LOVES us. He is an awe-inspiring God that NEVER loses sight of us; his chosen children. He is SO worthy of all love & praise. He is SUCH a faithful God. Psalm 68 explains that in all his holiness he chooses to be a Father to the Fatherless, a Champion Defender for widows, and provides sanctuary for those who are deserted & facing affliction. He showers us with abundant rain that refreshes our soul and rescues us even when we run from him. Day after day he wears our burdens & crushes the head of our enemies. He gives us power & strength EVERY morning. It might seem cliche but literally; he loved us before we even knew what love was. In John 13 it explains that He saw all of our sin and ickyness and STILL chose the cross. He calls us out of hiding because he has already searched us and cleansed us and redeemed us for eternity. He calls us to throw off our fear and run home to him because he payed it ALL on the cross. He redeemed every wrong and payed for every sin. He looks at us and sees a new creation and KNOWS our sin & shame but still calls us blameless & pure. hat’s crazy to me because I look at my past and I’m like yeah no way am I blameless OR pure. I’ve messed up a lot and did a lot of things I would be so embarrassed to tell the Lord - BUT, HE SAW ALL OF THAT and still places our name card at the table. Are you kidding me? & not only does he save us, but Psalm 63 says His right hands holds onto us. I just think of the way little kids cling to their parents hand for a sense of safety & security - we get to cling to the Father's hand and rest in His almighty presence. He invites us to lay our head on His chest and listen to His heartbeat. He invites us to rest in Him, while His spirit rests on us. God is so good and I’m constantly in in awe because He’s amazing and loves us so much and all I want to do is sing to him all my days because he is so worthy.
